PROJECT TO SUPPORT THE SOCIOECONOMIC INSTITUTION OF DURBA FEMALE WOMEN VIA THE DEVELOPMENT OF AGRICULTURAL ACTIVITIES GENERATING INCOME.
Location: Durba in the territory of Watsa.
Local partner: Associations of women farmers in Durba
Direct: 150 women organized in 5 groups for the promotion of agriculture and production of food crops.
Population of durba and the surrounding area
Through the financing of farmers’ associations for women, DCMS aims to improve the living conditions of durba women (food security and income generation) through income-generating agricultural activities.
– Crops of food products during the year according to the crop seasons: bean but and rice.
– Rice marketing and seed production for next season
– Strengthening local actors
Thanks to this DCMS support, the 150 women from the Durba farmers’ associations received new work equipment
Production and marketing of locally produced rice and beans, an average of 3 bags of beans per hectare and 8 bags of rice per hectare.
These women have working capital after the sale of their products and hold the seeds
